About „Wohnen & Betreuung“ (Living & Being cared for)

The institution offers flexible help to distressed young people who have at least reached the age of 16.

It encloses stationary as well as ambulatory single care. The facility works in accordance to the youth welfare office in Goettingen, Germany.

Seven pedagogues specially trained in higher education institutions or universities accompany up to 22 in-patients. The employees have regular coaching sessions with a specialized mediator, in addition to weekly team meetings and further vocational training.

One of the main aspects of the work is establishing a steady interpersonal confidence for the participants. Therefore each of them has a personal guidance counsellor who accompanies them through the complete period of stay. A substitution is also named.

There are always pedagogues available on site on weekdays from 9:00 and 22:00. Additionally there is continuous standby duty. Daily, also on weekends, group leisure activities are offered.

After beginning with a so-called `intensive clearing phase` the amount of care is individually determined by continual meetings in conjunction with the relevant youth welfare authorities. This concept contains 6 phases in total. Origin families or immediate contacts are included as much as possible.

The care terms and care purposes are determined in a care contract between the facility and the participant.

Who can be admitted?

The acceptance of this care contract is required in order for a person to be accommodated.

Wohnen & Betreuung accompanies young people who want to form their lives outside of the origin families, but also those who wish to stay with their families and require some assistance.

Basically this service doesn’t exclude anyone.
